Noctua NF-A8 installed

The fan has been successfully installed.  I used the mounting rubbers from the original case fan.  Not sure what my temps are right now, but at least it hasn't blown up yet.  The only minor issue I had is that the connection between the fan and the adapter cable was not totally secure, but it's not going anywhere so I'm not too worried about it.  I could probably tape it together and call it a day.

  1. Hi
I have put this fan in a Dell 755 SFF and now get "Alert Previous Fan Failure" messages on boot - have you had any issues like this?

    Kind Regards

  2. Nope I didn't have any such issues with replacing the front intake fan. The only fan related issues I had were when I removed the HDD cage; then the BIOS alerts that the fan is missing from there, however this is unrelated to your issue. Also, I used a 760 SFF, not a 755, so there might be some other difference between these machines.

  3. Strange as the machines seem almost identical - ironically I disconnected the HDD fan without errors! How did you get rid of the HDD fan error? It's not the error I am concerned about really (assume it's just due to the lower voltage of the fan) but the fact it comes back each time I turn the machine on

    1. I was never able to get rid of the HDD fan error; it always prompted to hit F1 upon boot.

  4. I know your expertise on this. I must say we should have an online discussion on this. Writing only comments will close the discussion straight away! And will restrict the benefits from this information. dell optiplex 760 sff power supply
